71 ways to help you take your next vacation…FOR FREE

Let’s face it life today is hectic. It seems that the demands continue to mount and the stresses of life can sometime seem overwhelming. Costs continue to rise and we’re getting older each day. Did I paint the picture for you? You may need…a vacation.
First of all you need to determine where you want to go. Not just a weekend away, I mean a full vacation one that you have been meaning to take for years.  But the question is: How do you come up with the money to pay for it? That’s what we’re going to figure out now. What’s the average cost of a great vacation?  Depending on how many people are going and where, the cost could be between $1000-$1500…or higher. So the million dollar challenge is how can you come up with / save the money that you need with very little extra effort?

Secondly...when do you want to go? Let’s say you want to go in 6 months. For an example we need to save the $1500 in that period of time to cover the cost of the trip. That’s $250 per month for six months. Do you have the extra money to save or will you need to figure out how to adjust your monthly expenditures so that it would cover the amount needed? You could go out and get a part-time job outside the home but that would cost you time, money, gasoline to get there, and taxes taken out of the money you made. I believe there’s a better way and if you combine this with another money-making strategy you could reach your goal or exceed it that much faster. It’s kinda like losing weight…you want to (1) start exercising and (2) lower your food intake for the fastest results. It’s up to you however to determine how fast you want to accomplish this goal that you have for yourself.

So let’s look at your expenses and daily nonessential spending like stopping for breakfast on the way to work, eating out daily for lunch, stopping for coffee, even going to the drink machine daily instead of bringing your own drink . See the point is there’s always lots of money that is wasted…so with a little attention to the “little things” you should be able to come up with a very large portion of your monthly goal with little effort.

So now that we have our goal set here’s some ways to help you trim your budget and “find” the money for that much needed vacation.
